Plant City Christmas Parade Inc. announces that Plant City’s Home-town Christmas Parade, “Celebrate the Season – 2018”, will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Major Sponsors for this year’s parade are Unity in the Community and Stingray Chevrolet. Thanks to the help of Unity and Stingray, the Christmas parade promises to be even better than ever as we expect to include only quality entries into the line-up. There will be beautifully decorated floats, high energy marching bands, talented church participation, civic and service groups, local business participation, and of course we expect a visit from Santa Claus himself to help us kick off the 2018 Christmas Season Celebration.

Other parade sponsors are needed and would truly be welcomed! Sponsorships are available for as little as $250.00, which will directly benefit the 2018 parade. Plant City Christmas Parade, Inc. is a non-profit, 501 (C) (3) organization and contributions are tax-deductible. Anyone interested in being a parade sponsor is urged to contact Bob Fulks at 813-365-0275, Sharon Moody at 813-453-7134, Marsha Passmore at 813-245-2244 or Dodie White at 813-927-0595.

Parade Applications are now available and can be obtained by visiting the Plant City Chamber of Commerce, or by visiting our website: www.pcchristmasparade.homestead.com. Entries are limited to the first 80 “Board Approved” units so get your applications in quickly to insure a spot in the parade. A representative from each unit is expected to attend a MANDATORY safety meeting on December 3, at Plant City High School (no exceptions).
Cash prizes and a trophy will be awarded to 5 parade participants – Best High School Entry, Best Marching Unit, Best Church Entry, Best Business Entry, and the Best Overall Entry. Winners are selected by out of town judges, with no input from the current parade board or committee.

Nominations for the 2018 Plant City Christmas Parade Grand Marshal are being accepted from the public until November 1. Anyone who wishes to submit a nominee to receive this honor will find the Nomination Form at the Chamber of Commerce or on our website at: www.pcchristmasparade.homestead.com

A Barbeque Chicken dinner fundraiser is scheduled for Friday, November 2, beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Stingray Chevrolet located at the NE corner of Interstate 4 and Park Road. Although advanced dinner orders are not necessary, they can be placed by calling Bob Fulks at 813-365-0275, Henry Falcon at Winn-Dixie at 813-754-9338 or Sharon Moody at 813-453-7134. All proceeds from the barbeque will go directly to help fund the 2018 Christmas Parade.

Plant City’s Home-town Christmas Parade is a family event, and everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the fun. Bring your family, friends and neighbors, and have a great time together. The parade route will start at Collins and Alsobrook Streets, travel north on Collins through downtown, turn right onto Reynolds Street, and end at the court house.
