    Community Invited to Ribbon-Cutting for Spurlino Family YMCA at Big Bend Road

     
     
    WHAT: The Tampa Bay community is invited to join the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA as we cut the ribbon to the Spurlino Family YMCA at Big Bend Road.
     
    Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, a grand opening celebration will include a night full of fun family activities, group exercise classes and healthy food samples! The event is free and open to the community.
     
    Special dignitaries will attend the event including Hillsborough County Commissioners, local Chamber of Commerce members and YMCA Governance Board members.

    WHY: Named after the lead donor, the Spurlino Family YMCA at Big Bend Road is the Tampa Y’s newest family facility in 18 years. The state-of-the-art Y includes 32,500 square feet of indoor space plus an outdoor aquatic center complete with a lap pool and family fun pool offering a zero-depth entry and fun play features (see attached rendering). The new Y in Riverview serves as a community hub where everyone - regardless of age, income or background - can come together to improve their quality of life. The $16.4 million project is done in collaboration with the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners. Community members are encouraged to RSVP@tampaymca.org to the event by Jan 3, 2019.
