Request for Comments on the Army Corps and EPA’s Proposed Rule to Revise the
Definition of Waters of the United States
On February 14, 2019, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency published a proposed rule to revise the definition of waters of the United States
(WOTUS). The rule outlines those bodies of water that are subject to federal jurisdiction and
therefore require permits in order to conduct activities within those waters.
The agencies published a video presentation outlining the proposed rule that is available to the
public here: https://youtu.be/ZZ6kFJasDhg. Advocacy will reference this presentation in its
remarks during the roundtable; however, attendees are encouraged to view the presentation prior
to this event to help inform their remarks.
Written comments are due by April 15, 2019.
